Mars Enters Taurus January 2021

Wednesday 6 January 2021, 5:26pm EST

Mars will finally quit his protracted stay in his home sign Aries on the afternoon of Wednesday, 6 Jan 2021, and will remain in Taurus until 3 March 2021. The recent Aries Mars transit was certainly a long, wild ride. Beginning in June of 2020, Mars entered Aries and stayed for 6 months, including an intense retrograde cycle. If we look back over world (and probably personal) events of the last 6 months, we probably don’t have to think hard to recall the general irritability, combativeness, and frustration.

I do not intend to cause alarm with this blog, but I worry that conflicts and general human irascibility might worsen with this Mars transit. It conflicts with the activity in Aquarius, and thus might introduce more grievance and conflict into the world – but with more stubbornness and obstinacy. On 21 Jan 2021, Mars will join with unpredictable, extreme Uranus. This could herald sudden crises, conflicts, upheavals, natural disasters, etc. – and to up the ante, Mars will join with emotional, subconscious moon to form significant squares to Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius and the Sun in Capricorn. This indicates that hostility, egoism, and destructive emotions could complicate and inflame already chaotic energies on 21 Jan 2021.

Perhaps Mars entering Taurus should inspire some hope in us that “things will calm down.” True, Taurus is celebrated most in the zodiac for patience and endurance. We may collectively turn our ambitions towards obtaining comfort, security, and stability. Perhaps our “fuse” will lengthen considerably in Taurus as opposed to the impulsive reactivity of Aries. However, I caution that Taurus may have considerable patience – but once enraged, the Bull can be relentlessly and savagely destructive.
