Today the moon is in practical, grounded Virgo. In the waning gibbous phase, she is winding down into the upcoming new moon on Jan. 13th. This Virgo moon also forms a strong trine to Uranus, a trine to the sun, and a loose trine with Mars.
Just as with planting a garden, we must go through the preparation work before the growth begins to bring an abundant harvest. We have to clear and plough the plot before the planting begins. So too in our lives, we have to clear and prepare where we want to see change and growth. This theme of preparation is very appropriate for the earthy Virgo moon transit. Harmonious aspects between the moon and Uranus, Mars, and sun offer ingenuity and motivation for new beginnings.
This is an opportune time to clean and ready your space – both within and without. What needs to be thrown out or concluded in your life at this time? What loose ends can your wrap up before setting out on a new year? How can you prepare and lay the groundwork for the reality you yearn to create?
As we get ready for the Capricorn new moon on Wednesday Jan 13th, focus on what your best life looks like and start building it by removing what does not fit that vision. Get started early on that spring cleaning this year! Give your living space a good cleansing. (Be sure to clean under your bed! Don’t miss out on the sound, healing sleep of a waning moon). Smudge your space to banish astral yuckies. Take a cleansing spiritual bath to rejuvenate and remove any negative attachments before you start the new year.
This is not the time for officially setting your intentions (wait for the new moon in 10 days), but for setting the scene. However, keep your bigger goals clearly in mind and get ready to do some serious planning and focused strategizing when the new moon begins on Jan. 13th.
