Spring Equinox March 2021

20 March 2021 – Spring has finally officially arrived!

This Saturday (3/20/21) marks the Spring or vernal equinox – from here out, the days will get longer, and the sun will shine hotter here in the northern hemisphere. Soon the tree branches and landscape will explode into vibrant, rain-soaked green, and bursts of spring flowers will follow. Life abounds relentlessly in springtime, reminding us to keep striving forward ourselves.

Today the sun transits into Aries, which also begins the (tropical) astrological new year as the sun returns to the first sign of the zodiac. Aries approaches life with zeal and a can-do attitude, bursting with energy and eager to take the initiative. We can apply the principles of Aries to our own lives by taking advantage of “spring fever,” and embracing the same excitement and hope that we traditionally reserve for January 1st of each year – why not?

In honor of Aries season, let us embrace our own inner zeal and initiative. Resiliency comes easily to those who practice positive thinking. Solutions come to people who brainstorm more than they complain. You may not be able to control everything, but it is your responsibility to control what you can in your life. What you cannot control, you can make plans and strategies to manage it.

Now is the time to begin new projects in earnest, with resiliency and vigor. If you feel overwhelmed, start with smaller, day-to-day goals. Aries energy can make us impatient for change and results but do try to keep the long-term in mind. The time must pass anyway. You might as well spend the time wisely and productively.
